Hello, my name is Shelley and I would love to be chosen to provide a warm, nurturing and intellectually stimulating home away from home for your little one. I am a qualified Montessori teacher with 22 years experience teaching in various fields from mainstream school to special needs care to Au pairing. I have successfully owned my own school, catering for children from 0-3 and I have to admit this is my niche of care. In addition, I have an honors degree in child psychology and development and have excellent contactable references and an extensive cv which I am happy to provide you with on request. I offer far more than simple minding and will engage your child in a range of fun stimulating educational activities to cement their foundations of learning. As a mom, I know the importance of doing all of this from within a loving, nurturing and supportive environment where children are comfortable enough to freely express themselves. The children's happiness is my overall concern. I do not believe in harsh discipline or cry it out methods. I have enjoyed much more success with positive reinforcement, praise, encouragement and constructive correction of behavior, through modelling of the desired behavior rather than strict punitive measures.
