Housekeeping or cleaningBack to Top
Housekeeping or cleaning can be a great job that lets you earn good money. However,
there are a few things you should watch out for. In this article, let’s look at some
scenarios and how to keep yourself safe.
The Interview
Safety starts with the first meeting (ideally over the phone). Here are some
questions to ask the inquirer before you meet face to face.
Where did you get my contact information?
How often do you use a cleaner? Have you used a cleaner before?
If the family or individual has used a cleaner before, ask for a phone number. Check
with the previous cleaner to ask about the family or individual.
After this initial phone conversation, it’s likely that the family or individual
will want to meet with you in person. The safest option is for you to meet them in a
public place during the day, like a nearby cafe. If you’re going to meet in the
home, bring a friend with you.
During the interview, trust your instinct! If you’re getting weird vibes, leave!
Always Inform People Where You Will Be and When. Tell your friends or family the
location of the job, how they can contact you and what time you will be
home.
Stay safe and the best of luck.
