My name is Iva. I'm Special Education Teacher with the BA Hons Montessori degree. My dissertation was on “How non-verbal children with ASD learn communication skills in the Early Intervention class”. Besides this, I have a B.A. in Early Childhood Education and Leadership for Inclusion in The Early Years. I have 12 years experience in teaching children with special needs form 3-12 years. Commonly, children with special needs have challenging behaviours, emotional needs and have difficulties with communication and social skills. From my experience and knowledge, I believe that by using PECS, Lámh, TEACCH and by having an established, predictable and structured routine those needs can be highly reduced and directed towards developing positive behaviours. I respect that children learn most from experience and exploring and hands-on from concrete to abstract. My goal is to use my creative and professional skills and knowledge to help the children to achieve their learning outcomes and reach their full potential in all aspects of their development. In my teaching I use a range of different teaching methodologies and strategies to keep the children interested and active in their learning. Beside teaching methodologies and strategies, in my opinion, it is crucial to develop a relationship with the children based on trust and respect. Please feel free to contact me.
