I have worked part time as a tutor and child minder, off and on, for the whole of my adult life; from minding small children and encouraging their learning and imagination, to designing and running an afterschool study program for teenage children, to tutoring young adults in college settings, I have successful experience with children of any age. Starting in March 2022, I began full time work as a child minder at Apres School Club in Kiliney, county Dublin. When minding the smallest children, I have done everything from changing diapers to preparing meals and morning/nighttime routines. For adolescent children, I designed and implemented an after school program that ran for 2 years, from 3pm to 9pm, in which I acted as a tutor for the first several hours, before then teaching hands on cooking skills during a collaborative dinner effort to end the evening. No matter the age, I love to engage with children in fun and creative activities with an eye to learning academic, social, and life skills appropriate to their needs.
