Hello!! I'm Nathalia from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. I'm currently living in Dublin, Ireland - this has always been my dream for as long as I can remember. Ireland brings the best out of me and so does the kids. My parents had me at a very young age so, for that reason, all my cousins are babies. So I was always the one chosen to baby sit whenever my family needed some extra help and that used to be the highlight of my days. Around that time, in 2018, I decided I wanted to go to NYC to study english and have an experience abroad, in order to save money for that I started baby sitting during college, this time I was working for my dad's boss. It was my first experience working outside of my family and I babysat two kids Arthur (5 years old) and Thomas (1 year old) every weekend for 6 hours each day. This included bathing them, supervising them, singing to them, taking them to the garden, playing with them, changing diapers, and putting them to bed. Also, I remember that one of my fav parts was teaching them words by reading books. I'm a booklover so combining my two favorite things (books and kids) was of the most wholesome moments of my life. I ended up going to NYC and over there I learned about the au pair program - which made me go back to Brazil so I could finish college and, during that time, I took a training course in Pediatric First Aid given by the Red Cross because I thought it would be a good idea to learn this before applying for the au pair program. I know that I would feel safer if I was the parent and knew that my au pair had this kind of knowledge. Also, for life, I think it was a good investment. I have a certificate for this (also in english) if you're interest. At this time, I was already invested and also took a course named "4 Temperaments in Education and Child Care" which was amazing. I believe that a lot of our personality traits or how we will develop is related to our experiences as a kid. So learning more about the temperaments and how to help the kids develop to their maximum potential was amazing. For all these reasons, I can't wait to have an opportunity to apply all this (while learning even more things!!) in Ireland. I have a lot to share but I feel that this is already a very long introduction, but I really wanted to show both my essence/personality and my professional skills.
