Dear host family, My name is Jhenifer. I'm a 23-year-old Brazilian student, just graduated from business school. I live in São Paulo with my family of four, my mother, brother and stepfather. In about a year or two, I intend to do a postgraduate degree, but, at the moment, I would like to take some time off from college to have a different life experience, thinking about the contribution that the exchange would provide me in a personal and professional scope. For that, spending a year in Ireland would be particularly essential. My mother tongue is, of course, Portuguese, but I'm learning English, when it comes to the process of learning a new language, cultural immersion would be precisely important. I ask for a little patience in relation to the language because I'm at the basic level, my intention to be in Ireland is precisely to learn. When it comes to childcare experience, I have taken care of children in both formal and informal settings. I participated in a short period by volunteering for a church I attend, where we used to spend our time singing, dancing, playing games and having fun. I took care of my younger brother during adolescence while my mother was at work, I was responsible for giving lunch, taking and picking up from school, bathing after school and watching over him while watching cartoons. I also babysit from time to time my cousin, Gustavo (5 years old), who is mildly autistic. When it comes to leisure, I enjoy the simple things in life. I like being outdoors, being with my friends, walking, visiting places I haven't visited and reading a good book. As far as preferences are concerned, I am looking for an arrangement to live with a host family who would be happy to welcome me and work with them. I also prefer looking after children aged between 4 and 15 years. Lastly, although I'm quite flexible, I prefer to have working hours that allow me to attend the English classes I closed with a school in Dublin city center in the afternoon, and have the weekends off.
