As a young teenager, I worked as a babysitter for family and friends. Working with kids is something that came naturally to me and that I loved, so it's something that I have continued over the years. I jumped at the opportunity to work as a live in Au-pair in France, where I took care of a 1 year old and a 2 year old child full-time for several months. It was a great experience that I definitely learned a lot from! I have worked for families with older children too, ranging in age from 3 to 12. I also spent a summer working as an activity leader in a Kids club in a family campsite in France where myself and another activity leader were in charge of thinking up and facilitating activities for up to 30 children at a time, all the while ensuring that each of them were safe and happy! I have a degree in Psychology and am currently completing a masters in Psychotherapy on a part-time basis. I have a keen interest in child development and something I really love is helping kids to understand and communicate their big emotions! I am also someone who is upbeat, organised and reliable. In terms of availability, I am free any time except Saturdays when I am carrying out my course, the rest is online and flexible. Ideally, I would love to work 20/25 hours a week but I am open to negotiation on that! I was Garda Vetted less than a year ago for a volunteering position and have training in first aid. I have mentioned on my profile that I smoke, however, smoking around children is not something I would ever consider and am very happy not to smoke at all while working if that makes you most comfortable!
