I care more than children just being "fed and dressed" - it is so special to foster positive emotions during their early, new life experiences, even with the simplest tasks. I aim to create a trusting, fun, curious atmosphere where they are guided to think for themselves and discover the beauties and joys of life! Over lockdown, I was a live-in au pair for 2 children (one with special needs) near Dublin for over a year. I was missing my base of Galway/Mayo, so I moved back when restrictions lifted. I grew up with an interest in teaching, minding kids of all ages for family and friends, and leading afterschool activities. I love helping with schoolwork, asking kids thoughtful questions, encouraging emotional intelligence, exploring nature...getting them active both physically and mentally! When I'm not childminding, my work and passions are permaculture/sustainability based. Organic farming, natural building, woodworking, compost management, and the like. I graduated with an honours bachelor degree from Rochester Institute of Technology in 2016, and am working on my TEFL cert. I adore reading, ocean swims, yoga, playing Paul Brady on guitar, and any nature walk/hike imaginable.
