We are looking for an experienced tutor/childminder to look after our 5-year-old son, commencing around 2nd January 2025. It will be in our home in Dublin 1, near the 3Arena, from around 13.45 to 17.45 each weekday during school term. During school holidays, ideally the person would be available to work full days, at least for some of the holidays, maybe from around 09.00 to 17.30 each day. Each day, at least 1 parent will be working from home and available to guide or assist where required. Our son is autistic and commenced junior infants last September. He is in a special class, in a mainstream primary school and recently began the process of transitioning to a mainstream class. He attends school from 08.50 to 13.30 each day, arriving home at approx. 14.00. Generally, he is quite content and is becoming increasingly flexible when it comes to doing different things. He enjoys being out-and-about, including on buses, trams and trains. A typical afternoon would include developmental activities, bits of homework, a trip to a playground (or shopping centre on wet days) either on foot, by scooter/bike or by public transport and some games at home. We are looking for someone with previous experience in childcare and in particular with autistic kids. A relevant qualification, for example in Teaching, Psychology, Speech & Language Therapy, Early Childhood Education or as an SNA is essential. All statutory entitlements including annual leave, sick pay etc. will apply to the role. Very competitive rates, including an annual bonus, will be available in accordance with experience.
