Hi, we're looking for afternoon childcare in our home for our 5yo son who is autistic. He attends pre-school in the mornings (which he loves!) so we need care from 2-5pm for 4 days a week (Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri). My husband and I work alternate days from home so there will always be one of us around to support if needed. We also have a 2 year old son but he is in full-time daycare in our local creche. In terms of our son's needs he is non-speaking but has excellent comprehension and always finds a way to make himself understood! He attends speech & language therapy and occupational therapy so we would ask you to support these through play-based activities (we can guide you on this). He is not yet toilet-trained but we hope to try this year. He is sensory seeking and very active - loves to play in the garden and especially bounce on the trampoline. Rates are negotiable and we could have some flexibility with hours and days if needed. Own car would be required for commuting and trips to the local playground. Experience with autistic children is preferable but not required. A sense of fun is essential!
