We are looking for a kind and reliable person to join the home care team of a gentle young man with a profound intellectual disability and physical disability. Based in Ballinhassig (Five Mile Bridge) just past Cork airport and close to a bus stop. 20-39 hours a week, standard care assistant pay scales, PAYE position. Some experience preferred but not essential Duties and Responsibilities: The below list is not an exhaustive list of duties and responsibilities, but contains the primary care assistant duties. -Care for the day to day needs of the client: -Provide attention, support and companionship -Physical care – helping with dressing, personal hygiene, toileting etc. -Carry out training and learning programmes with the client -Help the client complete physio exercises and go for walks -Prepare meals for the client and assist at meal time -Support the client in developing and maintaining their participation in activities of daily living -Keeping daily records and reports. -Liaising with other support staff -Accompanying the client to appointments and activities in the community as required. -To participate in relevant training courses (organised by the company) as may be required for the effective and safe support of the client ( e.g. Manual Handling, First Aid, Fire Safety etc)
