We are seeking in-home support in Stillorgan for our 84 year old dad who is mobile and has vascular dementia, needing support with daily activities (ADL's). Mum (80) also lives with dad and needs minimal care. You would share work with three other existing carers to do 9am-8pm Sundays and 1-2 other shifts. You would need to be available Sundays. Dad has severe dementia and needs help with all ADL. Mum is in good health but with mild dementia ,meets her friends and family. Suitable person needs to be a clear communicator, able to converse well in English. Essential qualities: Kind, compassionate, patience, with excellent listening skills. Reliability essential. Driving Not required Uniform Not required Tasks Support with showering, medication prompting, dressing, meal preparation, feeding, tidy-up, hoovering, cleaning bathrooms. Willing to participate in specific dementia training ( paid for by family, as soon as possible) Attentive to clients needs – willing to converse, listen and reassure clients. Willing to collaborate with family (2 adult children who live nearby) and three other care workers currently providing care. Rates: This is a self-employed position. Pay depending on skills and experience. Invoicing required. Permission to work in Ireland required.
