About JobBack to Top
93 yo lady requires clothes laid out for her when she wakes up late morning. Able to self-care with guidance as forgets what she set about to do and forgets who is in house and can forget where she is and what day and time it is. The carer needs to shop and prepare breakfast at 11am and dinner at 1pm with medication ( laxatives) and tea at 5.30pm. She requires reminders to toilet and wear incontinence wear as mobility is slow. Light house work like hoovering and changing and laundering clothes/sheets and put bins out. Secure house . She requires carer to drive her for trips out. She has her own car. She has one live-in carer all the time and HsE HCA 45 mins a day during week. This position is for a female weekend carer to relieve the live- in carer. Elderly person would benefit from short walk (10 yards) with use Zimmer frame in or outdoors daily. Deafness is longstanding from 40 yrs so elderly person can lip- read. Forgetful so carer needs to turn off cooker at fuse box between meals. I am looking for a live-in weekend carer from 5pm Saturday until 6pm Sunday all year around. We have a carer for weekdays who lives-in all year round who needs 25 hours off each weekend. The weekend carer needs to live-in while working (as well as the Main carer as this is the main carers residence). The weekend carer is needed 24 hours continuous at weekends to care for my aunt. My aunt sleeps well. The accomodation is a small single bedroom with shared bathroom. Currently main carer for my aunt works 35 hours at weekdays and 6 hours overtime Saturday daytime and 2 hours Sunday 6-8pm. The hours that need to be covered by the carer seeking this position are 25 hrs every weekend from 5pm Sat until 6pm Sunday. The current weekend carer has been in position over a year but is unwell currently so this temporary position has arisen. This position has the potential of becoming a longterm weekend opportunity for a new carer if the weekend carer cannot return to work or if my aunt requires a 3rd live-in carer to rotate with 2 nd carer. The 25 hours are negotiable if a weekday and night suits interested party more as the live-in carer is flexible about her 25 hours off.

The toilet is upstairs and my aunt can mobilise with guidance and hand rails up the stairs. There is a second toilet in shed outside ( 10 yards) that my aunt cannot use as it is too far away. I am getting a stair lift. She recently got a wheelchair for longer distances outdoors. Her dog has died but she loves dogs so a dog-lover would be a good match.
