I have been employed in the field of teaching English as a second language for over twenty years teaching all nationalities, ages and levels. I am passionate about working with people from different cultural backgrounds and have worked in many different countries in Europe, the USA and the UK. My longest teaching position (13 years) was at The Language Centre, University College Cork where I taught general, academic and business English and prepared students for Cambridge (First Certificate to Proficiency level) and IELTS exams and was a Cambridge oral examiner. For the past 20 years I have been freelancing and home tutoring international students placed by InTuition, International House, London and Churchhill School of English, Kent. I have also prepared students for Trinity, TOEIC and TOEFL exams, trained teachers of English from overseas at UCC and set up and ran TEFL teacher training courses in Cork. I speak Spanish fluently, manage in French and speak a little Italian and was educated in English and Welsh at school in Wales. Presently I run my own swim school three days a week at The Anner Hotel and Leisure Centre in Thurles, Co.Tipperary. I am available every day apart from 2.30 to 8pm Wed and Thurs and Fri 2.30 to 6pm.
