I looked after an elderly family member for 6 years and following that experience I decided to gain a Healthcare Assistant qualification so I could care professionally. I got my Fetac 5 in 2018 and have been working as a carer ever since. I spent five years working in Nursing Homes but more recently I’ve been employed by the HSE to provide care for elderly clients in their own homes, which I really enjoy. I’ve never regretted changing career ( I used to be an administrator, but I much prefer helping
