Hello! My name is Emily, I’m 23 and I’m from Galway. I’m living in Dublin right now with my partner and currently I work as a sales agent in an electricity company. As much as I enjoy my job something has been missing! I have worked with children on and off for years and always find myself wanting to return to childminding. I find that I thrive in these roles and feel so much happier working with kids than looking at screens all day! A little bit about me; I am a very creative person, I love all forms or art whether it’s music, painting, reading or writing I have dabbled in all of it! I graduated in 2025 from NUIG with English and philosophy and I am currently working towards a masters program in creative writing, film production and journalism to start September 2027. I love the outdoors and I make sure to always get out for a walk in my local park and just enjoy being in nature. My mum is a child psychologist and I think my desire to work with kids stems from what I have learned from her. I am a very patient, caring person who loves to talk to people and one thing I love most about working with kids is teaching them and watching them learn. I have always had a huge interest in child development and the different ways that children learn and develop. My experience: although my experience does not go far in terms of time - I make up for it in how easily I slot into childminding roles. I was a childminder for 1.5 years for a 4/5 year old boy in England and this was my first time (outside of frequent babysitting jobs) as a childminder. I absolutely loved it and I still keep in contact with the family. My most recent childminding experience was minding a 1.5 year old little boy on a more part time/casual basis as his mother returned to work from her maternity leave. I think this is the role that gave me the confidence to work with kids on a full time basis. Watching the little fella learn and grow through such a busy age was beautiful and inspiring. As the family are quite close to myself I still get to see him and I love seeing the things I taught him manifest as he continues to grow. I am a very reliable, responsible and respectful individual. I always ensure that the child’s safety and happiness is my number one priority but outside of this I will be a source of energy and fun and adventure for your child. Everyday is different and new with children and learning to adapt and change with the child’s needs is a necessary skill that I believe I possess. Your child will be in loving, caring hands with me and will never be bored!
