Hello! My name is Gina, I'm 27 years old and I live in Churchtown. I am a gentle, responsible person with years of experience working with and caring for children. I have been a childminder for three separate families over the past ten years. The most recent was for 2 lovely children, with responsibilities including school run, homework support, bringing them to various activities and spending time together drawing, playing, baking or visiting the playground, library or swimming pool. This was a gorgeous experience and over the time I worked for this family we enjoyed a close bond. Their mother can be provided as a reference if required. I have just moved home after 2 years living in Manchester, where I worked with young people as an assistant pastoral leader in schools. This role was about emotional wellbeing outside the classroom. I worked one-on-one and in small groups to support children with a variety of needs and goals. Examples were social difficulties, behavioural problems, self-esteem and confidence, and general support with unusual circumstances at home (ie bereavement, parental illness). Developing the ability to help young children manage their own (very big!) feelings and feel happy and safe under really difficult circumstances was something I found incredibly rewarding.
