We are looking for a kind, patient and enthusiastic person to provide educational support for our 13-year-old daughter who has Down Syndrome. We live in Castlemaine, Co. Kerry, and are looking for someone who would be available for a few hours on a Saturday and possibility one weekday after school, depending on your availability. We would particularly welcome someone with experience in teaching or supporting children with additional educational needs. The main focus would be on helping our daughter develop her reading, basic numeracy and social skills, using fun, creative and engaging activities that encourage her confidence, independence and enjoyment of learning. She is a happy, strong-willed and determined young girl with a lovely personality. We would love to find someone who is patient, encouraging and able to build a positive relationship with her while helping her progress at her own pace. The ideal person would have experience working with children with Down Syndrome or additional learning needs. If you feel you would be a good fit, we would love to hear from you.
