Looking for a loving kind experienced person who’s able to take care of my elderly mother with early signs of dementia. Her husband, my father, is her current primary carer. He’s 86 and needs extra help as we’ve no family in Ireland. It is essential that the caregiver would have their own car, is a nonsmoker/non vaper, and wears no perfume etc as my mother is highly allergic to any fragrances. The Help required is to primarily to look after my mum’s daily needs - such as giving medication, breakfast, checking she’s ok, possible bed baths, evening meal preparation, normal bi monthly bed changes, some light house work duties etc - can be discussed in more detail with applicant. We are really looking for a person who can take initiative in looking after her daily wellbeing , like checking on bed sores, communicating to my dad if a doctor should be rung, making sure she’s water etc. During the day she sleeps a lot and is good in her own company so doesn’t need companionship as finds talking and listening extremely draining.
