We’re looking for the right person for a slightly unusual but mutually beneficial arrangement. A single box room is available rent-free in a family home in Ballinteer, Dundrum, with excellent bus connections. The grandmother in the home is currently undergoing cancer treatment and cares for her 11-year-old grandson. In return for free accommodation, we’re looking for someone kind, responsible and dependable who could provide some basic support when needed, such as making sure he gets to school, preparing the occasional meal, and being at home with him if his granny needs to attend hospital or is unwell. He’s quite self-sufficient, so this isn’t a full-time childcare role. We’d simply like the reassurance of having a trustworthy adult in the house who can lend a hand when required. We’d be happy to chat and work out a fair arrangement that suits everyone.
