Hello there, We are seeking a regular carer possibly several times per day to visit our mother who has dementia, diabetes and incontinence from late August when she gets out of convalescence in Tullamore, County Offaly. Tasks include glucose monitoring finger-prick testing, laying out basic pre-made meals for her and our father and making sure she eats and drinks. Basically, required tasks are those not covered by the HSE Alzheimer’s Advanced Care system. Both parents already have personal carers but we are seeking somebody who has enough common sense and can recognise when it is time to call the emergency services or can redress our mother if she has been overdressed on a hot day by previous carers and is struggling and dehydrated (I’m not joking! It beggars belief!). Basically, a mature woman with some cop on without a huge ego who will give us enough notice before quitting. Possible add-ons are appointment accompaniment.
