After-School Childminder Wanted – Athgarvan, Co. Kildare We are a friendly family based in Athgarvan looking for a reliable, caring and energetic childminder to become part of our family’s routine. Our two older children will be starting 5th and 3rd class in September and attend school locally in Athgarvan. We also have a 4-year-old, who will be in crèche full-time this year. From 2027, we will be looking for someone to mind all three children after school, so we would love to find someone who is interested in building a long-term relationship with our family. Hours: * Monday to Friday * 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm (approximately 15 hours per week) * There may be the opportunity for additional hours during school holidays or on occasion, if this suited the successful applicant. The role would include: * Collecting the children from school at 3:00 pm. * Bringing them home (all within Athgarvan). * Preparing snacks/light refreshments. * Helping and encouraging them with homework. * Keeping them engaged with activities, play or outdoor time. * Bringing them to occasional after-school activities when needed. * Creating a calm, fun and supportive environment until we finish work. We are looking for someone who is: * Kind, patient and dependable. * Warm and engaging with children. * Happy to encourage independence while providing support with homework and routines. * A confident driver with their own car and a full driving licence. * Interested in becoming a consistent, trusted part of our family’s lives for years to come. This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys working with school-aged children and is looking for a long-term position with a lovely family.
