Applicant will work with an older disabled person (who will lead/manage the employee) to support them to lead their own service. Applicant will support the person to live an independent and self-directed life by supporting as necessary activities in the home and in the community. This is a personal assistant role not a care role. Duties for this Navan based vacancy include: · Assistance with domestic needs (cooking, cleaning, shopping etc) · Assisting to attend appointments and ability and willingness (and clean licence) to drive. · Assisting person to engage in social, political, and cultural life. · Must be willing to complete mandatory training sessions and Garda Vetting. · Must be eligible to work in Ireland and live in easy travel distance from Navan. · Fluency in the English language. · Must have a proven ability to listen and to follow instruction. · Proven ability to understand that the person knows what is in their own best interest and can make decisions for themselves about what they need/want. Personal Assistant supports follow through on the decisions made by the disabled person. · Sociable and a good sense of humour. They must have an ability to work quietly and to respect the light, and sound sensitivities of the disabled individual. · Must be flexible, open, and honest and have the ability to work on own initiative. Pay is in the region of 16 euro per hour, and there are 35 plus hours available
