We are looking for a reliable, kind and patient person to support an elderly lady with dementia for 2 hours, twice per week (one day must be Tuesday). A cleaner already attends regularly, so the focus is on light household support, companionship, and helping to maintain a safe, comfortable home environment. Duties include: - Changing bed linen - Doing Laundry and putting clothes away - General household tidying - Checking fridge contents and removing out-of-date food - Helping put away grocery deliveries - Emptying household bins - Rolling bins down a small driveway for collection (Tuesday visit) - Providing companionship and social interaction - Encouraging and accompanying her on a short walk, where appropriate and weather permitting There may also be an opportunity for additional hours if the right person is willing to accompany her to a local social or community group, stay with her during activities, and bring her home afterwards. The most important aspect of this role is helping her feel supported, cared for and connected, while ensuring basic household tasks are kept on top of. Experience supporting older adults or people living with dementia would be an advantage, but kindness, patience and reliability are equally important.
