Family in Waterford City seeking an experienced Special Needs Carer, Disability Support Worker, Personal Assistant or SNA for our 12-year-old son, who has cerebral palsy. The role involves collecting him from home and accompanying him on leisure activities such as the cinema, bowling, eating out, parks, walks and trips to the seaside. We initially require approximately 10–12 hours per week, mainly across two or three weekday afternoons from around 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 or 7:00 p.m., with possible weekend and school-holiday hours. Our son uses a wheelchair outside the home, communicates in English and Italian using a few simple words, and is toilet trained but requires assistance in the bathroom. He does not take medication. A full driving licence, suitable insured car, relevant experience, references and Garda Vetting are important. The position will be fairly paid according to experience and qualifications. Paid familiarisation sessions will be arranged before independent outings begin.
