Personal Care Assistant Application – Lyra We’re looking for a kind, patient and dependable Personal Care Assistant / Support Worker to provide one-to-one support for Lyra, an 18-year-old autistic young adult with an intellectual disability. Pay: €18 per hour Hours: 30 guaranteed hours per week, Monday–Friday, 3–9 pm Locations: Loughlinstown, South Dublin, and Wicklow Town The role includes supporting Lyra with everyday activities, personal care, meals, routines, activities and outings, while building a warm, trusting and consistent relationship with her. Lyra uses limited spoken language. Lyra generally alternates between her dad’s home in Loughlinstown and her mum’s home in Wicklow Town, usually spending one week at each location. Reliable travel to both locations is therefore important. A full driving licence and access to a car are strongly preferred, and mileage is reimbursed when driving is required as part of Lyra’s care. Experience with autism, intellectual disability or care work is desirable, but temperament, reliability and the ability to build a positive relationship with Lyra are most important. Optional weekend hours may also be available. We’re ideally looking for one person who can work the full 30 hours each week, but we welcome applications from people interested in part-time hours, working at one location only, or working 30 hours every second week.
