We are a couple with a young family, moving to the Peterswell area of Gort at the end of April. I am a full time researcher at UL, working 3 days from home, and my husband is a freelance photographer. We have two beautiful boys aged 1 and 4.5 years, who will be starting creche and school in September. We are looking for an experienced, practical kind and good humoured person to support our family this summer (and possibly beyond), to help care for our children in our home during the working week. You would be mostly caring for our baby, as our older son will be with in summer camp for part of the time. The hours would be roughly 10 to 3, Monday - Friday but this may change depending on needs. Pay can be negotiated based on experience. The position would involve caring for 1 year old at our home in the mornings, light housework (tidying, etc), preparing and serving snacks and lunch, and helping with our older child when he gets back from his morning activity. Our 1 year old is a very happy, active boy who loves songs and stories and exploring everywhere. Our older son is very clever, creative and chatty, and is deeply interested in science, nature and all things to do with the living world. He has an autism diagnosis (level 1), is very intelligent and curious and loves the company of adults. We are looking for someone who is curious and fun loving, who can share in our son's wonder about the world - someone willing to join in with imaginative play, science experiments, with a good sense of humour and creativity. Experience working with autistic or otherwise neurodivergent children would be a bonus. We are looking for someone who lives in the Gort area, who drives, is Garda vetted, and who has experience with babies as well as older kids. A good level of English (Intermediate +) is also essential. Also just to be aware that we have a mixed breed rescue dog, so it is essential to be comfortable with dogs.
